A better example would be to think of analog as a tube of water transport. This cable can be fed like a pipe that carries water to your home. With digital, the main difference is that the tube is now a pipe that your street Subscribe to feed!
This makes high definition so much appreciated. Not only have a much more real, is also a high quality audio playback, which is not possible on analog TV.

* Set Know Where You’re Going to your new HDTV!
To find out where is your new high definition TV is an important consideration. HD LCD TVs are thinner than the old style CRT televisions. Where the old CRT types used for much more room, an HD LCD TV can also be placed on a wall.

Buying an HDTV

Samsung LN40B550 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with Red Touch of ColorPrior to challenge the shops trying to find the right HDTV for your needs, perhaps it would be better to know what is a priority. It means the high-definition television. On 9 February 2009, the FCC has mandated that all television signals are no longer in the old analog system. Which will instead be transmitted in digital HDTV signal.
What is HDTV? Lose, HDTV is a superior quality picture and sound, with a larger screen television signals than others. Normal TVs have a resolution 480i. The higher the value for the resolution are clearer lines of images. Although these HDTV signals played with a lower resolution, are better known for dealing with signals in 720p and 1080p.
Immerse yourself in the language confusion techniques to an HDTV would most people. It ‘important that the fact that the image, image and sound so amazing that the images seem almost realistic, and the sound quality has improved a lot of stress than older televisions.
Cost will be a factor in considering an HDTV. HDTV projection is decent quality. The best is the LCD or plasma. The picture quality is second to none for both versions HDTV.
You want a plasma TV? So get ready to spend a lot of money. At a time of big screens cost up to $ 10,000. Although the price has dropped considerably, they are still more expensive than the projection and LCD HDTV. Do you have another problem. Them for too long can burn an image on the screen, ruining it into practice. Plasma TVs work with the same principle as fluorescent lamps. Finally, the plasma will burn out. Another problem is that the resolution can be images of inferior quality, the production of fat. If you want to buy a plasma television, make sure to buy a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 with the lowest.
LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display. These are still very expensive at the price drops. You can make a 32-inch LCD TV for you between $ 500 and $ 800. A 42-inch will cost between $ 1200 and $ 2000.
If you have an HDTV resolution lower, you must set up more if you have a high-resolution model. The screen size goes up, you need more distance between himself and the screen to see all the details. This will help you decide which HDTV is best for you.
Before you buy, here are some things you need to remember. Watch TV from different angles and distances to control the distortion. Make sure that the colors are crisp and clear, and that all shades from white to black to look good in comparison to other sets. How does the picture look like when things are in motion? There is a prejudice? All these issues must be resolved properly. Why else would so much money on TV? Choosing what features are important, and HDTV, make a conscious decision to purchase.

Go with Samsung TV's. You won't regret it

Review Date: September 6, 2008
Reviewer: M. Phares, Orlando, FL
I picked up this TV from Circuit City just before Labor Day. It is basically the same spec-wise as the 650 series. The only differences are 1 less HDMI port (3 instead of 4), a contrast ration of 40,000:1 rather than 50,000:1 and no infolink. For those who don't know, Infolink allows you to hook up the internet to the back of your tv via an ethernet jack. You are then able to pull up news, weather, and stock info from USA Today. This is all it lets you do though. Infolink does not allow you to download firmware, view web pages or anything like that. This is a great TV. 120Hz is amazing. It almost make it seem like the characters are right there in the room with you when you are watching blu-ray movies. The quality picture is great, the menu system looks nice and is easy to use, and for those who like lots of control over picture settings, to get their picture just right, this tv has a ton of different adjustable setting options, allowing you to adjust the backlight level, the black level, 120Hz processing level, gamma, white space, color space, color, contrast, brighness, sharpness, defeatable edge enhancement, and more
Amazing Quality

Reviewer: nuts about music,
Wow. This is a beautiful set - image quality is stellar - off-air and dvd source, 480, 720, 1080 all great. D-TV signals are amazing. Even stronger analog (i.e. old style NTSC) off-air signals look great. Audio clear and accurate. I've had it about a week and first impressions are really strong. Matte finish really helps if placement is near windows. This is a technological marvel. Menu's are clear, features are great, beautiful looking - I have to say touch of color is realllllly subtle, you can pretty much ignore this - it is classy without needing any extra gimmicks like this. Fast action/sports look great. Lots of tweaks to get a picture you will be happy with.

It is reasonably light weight, has swivel stand, viewing angle is excellent. It is like a jewel! Extremely well engineered. As of today, I think this set is at a price performance sweet spot. Samsung seems to really understands LCD video. If you are average person trying to find a good panel, you should be very happy with this one.
Great Quality HDTV - Complete satisfaction!

Reviewer: JohnD, New York, NY United States
I originally bought the LN40A550 but after a few weeks I realized I wanted something a little better. I then went with the LN40A630 and I could not be happier. The quality of this tv is top notch. Standard television looks wonderful on it and High Def...well...it takes my breath away. I especially like the AMP feature that helps to eliminate the blur in fast scenes.

If you're worried about the touch of color don't even worry...they have all but eliminated the color. I think though it was pretty a lot of people didn't like how pronounced it was. If you're unsure about rather you should buy it or not...I say go for it. Its a quality set and the image it gives off is top notch. I also play Xbox 360 and games look wonderful (only one suggestion...in certain games its best to turn the AMP feature off to help eliminate any lag in controls).

Sound has never been HDTV's stronger quality but I have to say that the sound of this set compared to the 550 is much better. You might still want to get external speakers to help when watching tv and movies.
I hope I don't take this for granted

Review Date: December 7, 2008
Reviewer: P. Fugiel,
I couldn't wait any longer to buy an HDTV and after looking around for the "right" tv after a month I settled on this one as it was on sale at bestbuy for $1399 (cdn). My goal was to find a TV that could keep up with the industry standard for the next few years (5 at least). It has the 120hz, the 40,000:1 contrast ratio, 1080p, 3 hdmi's, etc etc. This TV also has a lightning quick response time compared to other lcds at this price.

I am extremely happy with this TV. Anyone who has seen a movie on it is shocked as to how clear and realistic the picture is. Actually, my brother said the TV ruins movies because they are presented entirely different with this TV. The TV is so good that it pinpoints the flaws in the CGI of the lord of the rings movies when I play the dvd on my xbox.

At the time I am writing this review, this TV has the specs worthy of a $2000 LCD in its class. In fact, the Samsung 650 is almost $400 more and the specs are almost entirely the same (the screen is made from a different material). Samsung is also the industry leader in LCD technology. I highly recommend this TV, and I agree with the earlier reviewer that it is set at an optimal price/performance position. For what you get and what you pay, this TV can not be beat at this time.

Compare this Samsung to my Sony Bravia XBR 46" Model: KDL-46XBR4

Review Date: January 30, 2009
Reviewer: J M, Illinois
To be clear, if there were the opportunity to give this Samsung LN40A630 a four and a half star, that's what I would have chosen. I really debated about getting this Samsung versus the Sony Bravia XBR KDL-40XBR6 40-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV. We already own the Sony Bravia XBR 46" model KDL-46XBR4 and are THRILLED with that TV. Since I was already a fan of Sony, I tried to research whether the few hundred $$ in savings would be worth it if the picture didn't compare to what I was used to with the Sony, and now they are up to XBR6 versus 4. Side by side in a brick and mortar store, the Samsung and the Sony 40XBR6 were practically identical. Of course real world testing is impossible when they are playing a specific video and you are limited to what they are showing you. I went ahead and bought the Samsung LN40A630 from Amazon (great delivery, no problems whatsoever). I performed some color correction with the Samsung's vast amount of color controls. I perform graphic color correction for a living so it is with a highly critical eye that I was judging picture quality and color. Once I was happy with the correction I DVR recorded "LOST" on both TVs. Then in I viewed various scenes on both TVs. For the most part the picture was pretty comparable. I will describe a few differences in my opinion: Our Sony has more of a cinematic feel in the picture most likely because of deeper blacks and it handles banding (abrupt change in shades of the same color) better. In various scenes, the Samsung almost took on a video effect. The clarity and sharpness is profound, but that sometimes gave it a more stark effect. This happened in only some scenes. For the most part the pictures were very comparable. I would imagine for those of you who enjoy football games, this may be an asset. Lest you think I am not pleased with the TV, I am really happy with it. It's got wonderful quality and richness in the picture. The sound is not as good as our Sony because the speakers are on the bottom of the TV as opposed to front facing. But the sound is good enough for sure. I would find it hard to believe anyone would regret this TV. I am a harsh critic. I think most people (and they have) would review this as a 5 star TV. I think I still prefer the Sony, but this Samsung sure gives it a run for it's money. As far as the "touch of red", it is far less red than the glossy screened version of this TV. I happened to like the red, so I was a little disappointed to see it basically looks black. Again, that may be a positive to someone else. Even in bright sunlight, this TV frame pretty much looks black. On the plus side, I think this set is far more attractive than the Sony I was thinking of purchasing. Clean lines, attractive finish. This set is also far less expensive to mount on the wall. We purchased the Peerless PA740 Articulating Wall Mount for 22-inch to 40 inch flat panel displays (Amazon). Only $68 with free shipping and it can move in pretty much any direction. To mount the Sony we would have had to buy a different kind of mount with an adapter, all adding up to more than quadruple the mounting costs.

ADDENDUM 5/23/09: We have had this TV for several months now. Changed my review from 4 stars to 5. I may only buy Samsungs moving forward. Just as great as Sony, lower cost than Sony.

It also includes dual HDMI inputs for simultaneous signal transfer of audio and video from digital devices and PC connectivity. Additionally, the stand can be removed for wall-mounting via optional VESA compatible hardware (such as Samsung wall mounting kit WMTL4001).

Samsung's DNIe™
Samsung's DNIe™ (click for demo) technology offers digital perfection in naturally presented, crystal-clear images that uncover even the most minute detail.

Motion Optimizer: The visual data are automatically broken down into signal and noise and adjusted through a combined spatial/temporal process to eliminate noise and blurring without the slightest damage to the original signal. This guarantees the viewer a picture of astounding sharpness, whether the scene is still or moving.

Contrast Enhancer: DNIe has done away with the unwanted side-effects that conventional contrast enhancement can produce, such as noise boost-up and flicker by developing an algorithm that recognizes over 1 million criteria for applying contrast. Its detail contrast enhancement technology can automatically analyze up to 70,000 local images within a frame, treating the viewer to a picture rich in contrast even in the tiniest details.

Color optimizer: For each scene the color optimizer calculates the saturation of red, green, and blue in the input signal and adjusts it to the shades that the human eye accepts as natural. Even a conventional process like white tone enhancement produces more striking results when when used with DNIe. The end result is a palette of vivid hues and pure white tones to satisfy the most discerning viewers eye.

Detail enhancer: Many viewers complain of the unnatural effect that conventional uniform detail enhancement produces by relying on artificial amplification of the input signal. In contrast, DNIe automatically analyzes the portion to be amplified, detecting and re-processing any noise or defect to bring the viewer a startlingly sharp and lifelike image.
The Samsung Digital Natural Image engine (DNIe) Video Enhancer refines all analog NTSC and wideband video inputs for an overall improvement in picture quality. DNIe improves contrast, white level, picture detail and incorporates digital noise reduction to improve lower quality video inputs. The 3D Y/C digital comb filter constantly analyzes the three dimensions of picture height, picture width, and picture changes-over-time to dramatically reduce edge image artifacts while improving transition detail.

Tech Talk
HDMI is a lossless, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface to link any audio/video source (such as a set-top box, DVD player, or AV receiver) with your TV--all over a single cable. HDMI supports standard, enhanced or high definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable. It supports all ATSC formats--standard (SDTV), enhanced (EDTV), and high (HDTV).

TruSurround XT audio adds three new audio enhancement technologies to produce an amazingly immersive sound experience.

  • Dialog Clarity brings movie dialog into Focus during the playback of any surround-encoded material to make speech much clearer and crisper.
  • TruBass creates incredible deep rich bass allowing a person to perceive significantly deeper, richer low bass tones that are far beyond the physical low frequency capabilities of the speaker itself.
  • The SRS WOW feature widens the soundstage by processing standard two-channel stereo material as well as multi-channel encoded material for a dramatic improvement in the playback of any stereo audio over a two-speaker system.
Component video (also called Y/Pb/Pr) features a three-jack video input, which provides separate connections for luminance (Y), blue color difference (PB) and red color difference (PR). This results in increased bandwidth for color information, resulting in a more accurate picture with clearer color reproduction and less bleeding than you would get with S-Video or composite (RCA yellow video plug) connections. You will need a separate RCA left/right audio cable for sound.

Samsung Touch Of Color T220HD 22-inch LCD HDTV Monitor

Prices are constantly on the HDTV, so now is a good time to buy online and get the best deal on an HDTV. Here are some tips on how to save money for HDTV.
1. First, using shopping bots. Many online shopping sites are one-stop shopping sites where you can check on the specific prices for high-definition television sets that are literally an eye on hundreds of online retailers. It is usually possible through the listings sorted by price including all taxes and shipping costs. You can also use the reader ratings and comments about HDTV at various retailers.
2. Price reports of some of the bots. They price out alerts by e-mail. Let them know your target price or a range for the model you want, and they will send you an email when you find a shop that sells in its price. So if you are not at leisure to subscribe to the alerts and just relax until you arrive at the right price.
3. Buy your HDTV to match an online retailer or brick and mortar dealer, or hit a lower price from a competitor. Head to the store, if you know what price you are willing to pay and negotiate. Many stores will, after a sale, guarantee of a refund if the lowest price on your HDTV within 30 days or so. Some may even give a refund if the TV for sale somewhere else for less money.
Be careful to check the details and restrictions to be close though. Some, such as Best Buy has a 60-day guarantee on HDTV. Keep proof of purchase and every now and all the other competitors ads when it was purchased.
4. Do not buy the extended warranty. Purchasing an extended warranty on a high definition television, such as an LCD or plasma TV is a waste of money. Both types have a low repair during the first two years. Most repairs cost less than $ 190. An extended warranty will cost at least as much if not more.
However, if you buy a rear projection, micro-display, usually have the most frequent repairs than high-definition televisions to flat screen. Replace light bulb seems to be more prone to errors. An onion can cost between $ 210 and $ 340 You can easily replace it on your own. If you decide to get an extended warranty, use a good figure would be about 15% of the cost of HDTV or out with the cost of the bulb, and who pays the maximum of six.
5. The reliability of the brands you should make a contribution. And different models within a brand can make a difference. Well-known brands can be a better choice for off-brands. The service for the off-brands can be difficult to find, especially if the company does not have parts and service organizations affiliated with it for the off-brand parts.
Some of the many TV brands including Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, Sharp, Mitsubishi, Pioneer, JVC, Hitachi, Toshiba, Visio, and Phillips, etc. If you are in it, is to do your work on indoor and outdoor antennas, receivers, tuners are, converters, cables, resolution, and satellite receiver.
At the end of my tips for buying high definition televisions shop wisely and carefully kept, and not in a hurry. Take some ‘time for all with flat screen plasma and LCD reviews, ratings, rankings, comparisons, and forums, both online and offline and you’re sure to find the best HDTV, if you are 32, 37, 42, 55 or 1080 Perhaps you also have a cheap HDTV. Then there examine Comcast, DirecTV and Dish Network offer HD. In any case, you will get the best deal online on an HDTV.

Product Description

Samsung's sleek 32" LCD leads the industry in realistic home entertainment. With its 6000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, over one million pixel resolution, Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp, S-PVA Panel, and 10-bit processor with 12.8 billion colors, the LN-S3296D delivers a picture of startling clarity that rivals real life. The new, optimized game mode and fast 8ms response time will thrill Xbox fans with its movie-like visuals. The audio system is equally impressive, with hidden bottom speakers that offer SRS TruSurround XT sound. A 178° viewing angle and convenient swivel stand let you enjoy shows from anywhere in the bedroom, living room or kids' playroom. While viewing either very bright or very dark scenes, it can be difficult to distinguish main images which blend into the background. Samsung's 6000:1 Dynamic Contrast dramatically mitigates this problem by adjusting the backlight intensity, providing up to a 6X improvement in contrast. Left side, right side or upside-down, whatever your LCD TV's location, Samsung's new innovative S-PVA (Super Patterned Vertical Alignment) solution allows you to see any display clearly due to the 178° wide-viewing angle. Horizontally and vertically, your LCD TV will always be well placed to enjoy the entertainment no matter what your angle of view is. Every TV's final destination on the visual side should be 100% coverage of the NTSC standard in the color map. Typical LCD TVs can only cover 72% of this area. Even our friendly CRT TV only can cover 76% area of the NTSC standard. LCD TV with New 92% backlight units, unlike other conventional LCD TVs which use normal fluorescent lights with limited color coverage, can show the world of breathlessly vivid colors. Colors using the new BLU are so deep, so natural, and so vivid that red becomes more reddish, green color gets far greener. And the result is amazing 92% coverage of NTSC color standard, superior color gamut than any other LCD.
